How are we halfway through July already? Given that it’s been a wet and chilly week here in Liverpool you wouldn’t think it. My sandals are longing for a crack of sunshine.
Despite the grey clouds, I’m still relishing a work-free summer and getting outside. Couch to 5k is going strong and recently, audiobooks have been accompanying me on my mid-day walks.
In other news, I’ve been stuck in yet another writing slump which I’m still arduously crawling my way out of. Hopefully there’ll be some more content up in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are a few little things I’ve been loving lately.
Toy Story 4
I don’t go to the cinema often, but my siblings and I were dying to see the final instalment of Toy Story. I could have sworn Toy Story 3 came out only a couple of years ago. But no. 2010? 9 whole years ago? Anyway, despite the room being packed full of eager kids, I was the most excited one there. All I’m going to say is I cried my eyes out during the final scene. And all through the credits. I finally watched A Star is Born on Saturday night too and I’m not lying when I say I cried 10x more at the Disney film. I mean, you must be made of stone to not well up at that ending.
‘Dark’ on Netflix
Okay, I know I rave about a new TV show every single month. But seriously. This is the best show I have ever watched. Ever. I’ve already sung its praises across my social media, but I’m desperate for more people to watch this show.
It’s complex, shocking and mind-bending – full of time travel, small-town drama and an impending apocalypse. Someone, please join me in having your brain turned into soup. After Season 2’s finale leaving me with even more questions, I’m dying for Season 3 to re-scramble my mind.
Trip to London – recommendations please!
With my 21st birthday fast approaching, I booked train tickets to London for myself, my mum and my sister to celebrate by visiting pretty places and eating good food. I’ve been to London a couple of times so I’ve already ticked off all the major tourist spots. So, I’m in need of recommendations for different things to do and exciting places to eat. We’re staying near Tower Bridge, so bonus points for any foodie spots around that area.
Summer Baking
I’ve been enjoying rustling up some super simple treats lately. Banana bread, chocolate brownies, and these easy peanut butter cookies have gone down as a success so far. I’m always scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration. Honestly, I consider anything sweet and chocolately an instant win. What are your all-time favourite bakes?

I love hearing your show recommendations! I don’t know if Dark would be my cup of tea, but to be fair, I’ve not really watched enough apocalyptic shows/movies to determine whether I’d like them or not. I’m loving Love Island :’) I’m also excited to watch the new series of Stranger Things now that I’m back from my trip to the coast. A trip to London for your 21st sounds so fun!! Wish I could recommend something, but alas, I’ve never been haha. Toy Story 4 also left me in shambles, I feel that :’) Even my dad said he felt proper emotional at it which is a surprise because films & shows never get to him!

I didn’t think I’d enjoy it at first either but it is insane! I actually found the new season of Stranger Things to be disappointing as well. Hahaha glad I’m not the only one who was an emotional wreck! x

WHAT?? Toy Story 3 came out 9 years ago?? I have yet to watch Toy Story 4 or Spider-Man: Far From Home. // I visited London two summers ago! You can check out my recap post HERE if you’re curious! My favourite experience in London was doing hot yoga with my friends at TriYoga in the morning, and then heading straight to the nearby Camden Market for lunch after that! It was so wholesome <3 I would have loved to explore Shoreditch more. It's a trendy area with lots of cafes! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

I know I felt SO old when I realised, haha. Ah I’ll check the post out now, thank you! Camden Market is on my list, there’s soo much food I wanna try from there. I’m only there for a couple of days so I’m not sure how much I’ll get done! x
