Vanilla Baked Oats! A breakfast which is super versatile, keeps you satisfied for hours and tastes just like dessert.
Lately, I’ve been loving nothing more than some warm, baked oats. I’ve been devouring this breakfast pretty much every morning so, I thought I would share my favourite recipe with the world. There are so many variations for these oats, but this recipe is simple and requires few ingredients for a moreish breakfast.
This is basically like having dessert for breakfast, and who doesn’t want that? What I love most about this is its cake-like texture. Hence the reason why I’ve eaten nothing else for breakfast since I finally stepped into the light and tried them. I’m sorry (not sorry) in advance for your new addiction. There’s no going back.
Switch It Up
These baked oats can easily be made dairy-free by subbing the milk with either water or a dairy-free milk of choice. This recipe is so versatile that you can fit it to match any cravings or dietary requirements you may have.
Moreover, these oats can make the perfect post-workout breakfast. I’ve been refuelling by adding in some protein powder and I have used a scoop of vanilla protein in this recipe. However, they still taste great without the added protein, just add more cocoa powder or sweetener of choice!
Looking for more volume? Try grating in some courgette. Trust me. This is also a perfect way to sneak in some veg into your breakfast.
The downside? Waiting for the oats to cook can be torture. But, the 25 minutes are worth it, and you’ll soon be swept off to oat paradise. In addition, they are an ideal meal prep option. Just bake a batch the night before, leave in the fridge and either heat them up or eat cold with some fresh berries in the morning.
In terms of toppings, I love serving mine with a spoonful of peanut butter, but this is optional. And by optional, I mean mandatory.
Other toppings include fresh berries, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, yoghurt, the list is endless. I hope you enjoy these baked oats as much as I do! Say hello to your new favourite breakfast.
